HB NO-DIN Registration Control
Single-direction - Registration Control

Applications:
Packaging, Labeling, Converting Applications

Benefits:
Out of Registration Alarm
Automatically Halt Process or Intervene
Reduces Scrap – Improves Quality!

The No DIN series of controls measure, detect and produce an early-warning alert of out-of-limit registration conditions. They help eliminate errors, scrap and other waste in packaging, labeling, converting, and similar applications where two or more components are combined.

The No Din Control can sound an alarm, stop a process for intervention or take other necessary action. If an error condition is detected and alerted, the reset button on the front panel allows action to resume after the error is cleared.
A quick glance at the panel tells all: Is the process in registration? Are all parts in place? Is there a label on the drum? And more...

Three NO-DIN models are available: All feature the same inputs - a Registration Mark Scanner and a Gate. While designed for HB devices, inputs are compatible with any 3-wire, 24 volt DC device that provides an output current sink. The control output is mounted in an on-board octal socket. It can be a mechanical relay, solid state AC or solid state DC switch, depending on the requirement for control.

Models vary by the logic used to determine the output from inputs:

Registration - One-way registration control using a Registration Mark Scanner and a second switching device (the gate) such as a programmable limit switch to signal action. Open the gate once per machine cycle to define an acceptable mark position - in registration. Close the gate at the end of the acceptable mark position. If the mark is detected when the gate is open, no action occurs. If the mark is detected when the gate is closed, the registration control output is turned on to signal for a correction. It stays on until the gate opens.

Inspector - Multiple scanners (or scanner and alternate detectors) are used to open an inspection window. A scanner input with the window opened satisfies the inspection cycle. If the inspection window opens and closes without a scanner input (error), the output is energized. It remains energized until the reset button is pushed. Applications: no-label/no-glue, no-cap/no-wrap, and more...  (Part #: 10-0078 No DIN-Inspector Board)

Follower - The output follows the scanner or other 3-wire input device. This No-Din Control provides power supply, mounting, indicator lights and an output device. (Part #10-0080: No DIN-Follower)

Three HB scanners work with No-Din Controls, covering many applications:

• CX6A - general purpose mark scanner for most scanning situations.
• CX7 - special purpose color contrast scanner for low contrast labels.
• CX8 - fiberoptic scanner for small marks or hard to reach places.
